My project aims to develop a computational and theoretical framework for modelling blood flow in vascular anastomoses, with a focus on understanding the factors contributing to intimal hyperplasia (IH). IH is a common cause of graft failure, often influenced by compliance mismatch between grafts and native vessels or by geometrical configurations at the anastomosis site. This research investigates which factor plays a more significant role in the development of IH through computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations.
